Social Media impact (pros and cons)

Social Media is the best platform for making money and reaching more audience

Communication technology is in a daily development nowadays. However, people can reach each other by using many types of platforms such as phone calls, text messages, internet with all of its platforms even if it is formal or not. Social media nowadays is the most common platform for all types of communication, it is used in every thing related to our daily lifestyle, moreover, it is the easiest and the most portable way to reach whoever you want wherever he was.

If you are an artist, Singer, scientist or have any other content and you want to reach with your content to more audience, Social media is the best way for sharing your content with a lot of people and become famous with your content it is also the best way for making money from your videos and the content you create. It is also used for advertising in the current days instead of the television and the billboards because of the high rate of people who are using social media in the world which exceeded the TV viewers that is estimated to 2.65 billion users worldwide and will reach 3.1 billion users in 2021. (Clement, 2019)

Social Media gives everybody the freedom to share his content without any prohibition, accordingly, that made many people against social media because of the bad contents that are shared by a lot of people giving causes that they might have a bad effect on the children and their minds and also grow some harmful ideas and bad habits that could affect their behaviors and future, people say also that social media is sometimes unfair because there are many people who have millions of followers on all social media platforms and have no content to present, on the other hand, there are millions of people who have a presentable and useful content but they have no followers and not many people know them.

On the other hand, people should be aware about what they want to know from the social media and they also should not take any information from unreliable sources as the true information should be from an authorized and academic website in order to verify its credibility. However, social media still sharing many useful information from a lot people who have an excellent content to present to their audience and the main decision is up to the audience and they have the freedom to what to watch and what not to watch.

To sum up, everything in our life has pros and cons and so is the social media, so people should choose their content and the people that they want to follow on the social media as it is a double edged weapon and we should use it in a proper way in order to not to return into an addiction. Moreover, by sharing one wrong information you may influence millions of people with it, so you should be sure from your content and the information you are presenting to your people to be always at your followers’ discretion.

Social media is an undeniable force in modern society. From giving us new ways to come together and stay connected to the world around us, to providing an outlet for expression, social media has fundamentally changed the way we initiate, build and maintain our relationships and that’s can be clearly mentioned in our daily life as most of peoples all over the world had been influenced by social media including (Facebook, Instgram, Twitter, etc…). And the media has proven its progress throughout history in terms of making it easier for all people to communicate despite the distances where a person can communicate with someone outside the country and can also be see him , and all of that through social media  and the work of social media wasn’t limited for this only, but the media outlets extended and assisted the undergraduates, where university students can now view the lectures and submit their research through internet, and it had also facilitated to the owners of the companies that they could be able to carry out their work through the social media while they was home (Fagen, april 8).

And now after we had mentioned a short summary about social media we can talked about the advantages of social media in our life as in my opinion social media provides many ways of helping which could be represented in Keeping in contact with relatives and companions has never been simpler using online life. Internet-based life is probably the most ideal approaches to discover and communicate with new individuals who have indistinguishable interests from you, as web-based social networking enables you to search out gatherings that are centered on your inclinations and pastimes. This can be extraordinary for meeting new companions, on account of web-based life. Web-based life is an extraordinary method to spread news rapidly over the globe, with “breaking news” tweets accepting a huge number of retweets in minutes. This can be exceptionally valuable when refreshing people on significant data, for example, climate refreshes and missing youngsters. Web-based life is likewise an extraordinary method to get worldwide hoodlums and fear mongers, as anybody with a web-based life profile can be followed and found. This can be profoundly advantageous concerning illuminating and avoiding violations. As web based life has generally changed society in numerous positive manners yet for definitely no additional cost as all significant web-based life stages are free (Tomalin, 24 november. 2017).

Despite the benefits of the Internet that we mentioned and the progress that it has made throughout history, there are some opinions that contradict this opinion and see the Internet as a tool for sabotage and the total destruction of any society by saying that it is possible through social media means that one can spy on another and violate his rights and Blackmailing this, and opponents also say that although communication means help to arrest the terrorists and reveal their result, on the other hand, they are helping them to mislead the minds of people by spreading corrupt news aimed at attracting young people under the name of jihad. And the fact that the media also carried out family separation, as the means of communication attracted all sectors of society, from old peoples to children’s.

But despite the fact that there are advantages and disadvantages within the means of social media, except in my opinion it can be said that the advantages of the means of social media can cover up their defects and the proof of this lies through that without the presence of the means of social media we cannot mention the advantages or disadvantages of social media which is considered the main point of our topic for example, a talented person inside a poor village cannot show his or her talent only through social media. As the means of social media actually represent a very large part in our lives, such as: a coup in the country which couldn’t create awareness to people unless through social media, the coup of weather tomorrow, so we couldn’t know this unless also through social media or the news bulletin. Therefore, to demonstrate the importance of social media and an appreciation of what it had provided, you must look with a correct way and turn a blind eye to its faults to benefit from the advantages.

So to end what we had said It can be said that social media are a great progress, and every individual in the society must maintain it and use it in a correct way that helps in the improvement of society and an advance towards a better future because whatever social media means of progress and achievements, this all lies behind the human being because the human being is the one who established all of this, so a person must appreciate himself and know his ability to achieve progress.

Assuming it was really hard to say that to my face, she sent me a text message. The downside is that I didn’t know if she was really distressed. Because I haven’t heard of it. According to (Ethan Zuckerman , May 30, 2018 ).

Technology has taken over every individual’s live nowadays with everything its throwing at us. Many innovations have been made that has changed the world completely, but there is that one invention that has made the most effect which is social media. Social media has literally taken over our lives, it is now an important in most peoples lives and some people would claim that it is impossible to live without it now, which is something terrible if you think about it. Social media has gotten us a new way of life that has too many faults that have done nothing but ruin peoples lives. It has become an addiction and has opened hundreds of doors of negative effects internationally.

You may ask to yourself what would something so harmless do? Why is it that dangerous you might say? Well it does many problems in your life that you may not be aware of and if you are you may not put the reason on social media. First, as claimed by Alice G. Walton, social media has been labeled an addiction because people would have the known characteristics of an addict like neglect of personal life, mental preoccupation, escapism, mood modifying experiences, tolerance and concealing the addictive behavior. Using social media develops sadness, and gives us a rise of the chances of depression and there is actually something in psychology that is called “facebook depression” it is actually there. Comparing between your life and others is mentally unhealthy for any human being it does nothing but get self-criticism out of a person. People end up living with the delusion that it is the cure for your sadness and believe that more friends on social media means more friends in real life and all of that is clearly not true.

Another author called Esteban claimed something else he was not completely with social media, but he was clearly not against it. He said that social media does affect our well-being, but it is also the opposite when you are down it you tend to use social media more. He said that social media is bad when people use it in an extreme kind of way, but people who use it considerably are actually happy and ok. It also raises teen awareness and marketing exposure.

Social media may have its positives, But, it still is a completely bad effect and the negatives completely outweigh the positives, because of social media their has been a rise in bullying and actually a new kind of bullying which is cyber bullying, there is a clear increase in people who have depression and not only that, but it gets to the point of addiction and thinking that living without it is impossible.

To put everything into a nutshell, social media is a bad influence on everyone, it may get to the point of addiction, and at the same time it has introduced all kinds of bad things you may imagine, specifically psychological issues like depression. It may have its positives but social media will always have a bad effect no matter what.

Social media refers to the means of interactions among people in which they create, share, and/or exchange information and ideas in virtual communities and networks. The Office of Communications and Marketing manages the main Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube and Vimeo accounts. This paper will discuss what do we mean by blogs; blogs is a platform for casual dialogue and discussions on a specific topic or opinion.this paper is against the idea of social media because social media has a bad effect, and it promotes violence.

Let’s explore the darker side of social media and exactly how (and why) it’s bad for you. You’ll be surprised to learn the negative effects of social media are both physical and mental. It can change your perception of the world and yourself, and not always for the better. There are several bad effects of social media such as Depression and Anxiety In fact, you’re more likely to report poor mental health, including symptoms of anxiety and depression. Moreover, Cyberbullying

Before social media, bullying was something only done face-to-face. However, now, someone can be bullied online anonymously. Today everyone knows what cyberbullying is, and most of us have seen what it can do to a person. And since screens hide our faces, you can end up being a jerk on social media and other websites without realizing it. Furthermore FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) is a  phenomenon that was born at the same time as Facebook and it’s one of the most common negative effects of social media. FOMO is basically a form of anxiety that you get when you’re scared of missing out on a positive experience or emotions that someone else is getting. On the other hand Unrealistic Expectations This one probably comes as no surprise, but social media helps you to form unrealistic expectations of life and friendships. The networks that do it most are Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat. Those are the social media platforms that severely lack online authenticity. In addition Negative Body Image Speaking of Instagram celebrities, if you look at popular Instagram accounts, you’ll find beautiful people wearing expensive clothes on their perfect bodies.

despite their are a very bad effects of social media, but still there is some good effects of social media people can use. Some of these effects are, as stated by (Donely, 2017) “nowadays social media plays an important role in our life, we are using it to keep in touch with our friends. Besides that we want to show the world what we are doing by means of posting pictures or videos. These tools are all very useful when we talk about business too.”

We know our preschoolers are picking up new social and cognitive skills at a stunning pace. But adolescence is an equally important period of rapid development, and too few of us are paying attention to how our teenagers’ use of technology,  In fact, experts worry that social media and text messages that have become so integral to teenage life are promoting anxiety and lowering self-esteem.

Young people report that there might be good reason to worry. A survey conducted by the Royal Society for Public Health asked 14-24 year olds in the UK how social media platforms impacted their health and wellbeing. According to the (Royal society for public health) “The survey results found that Snapchat, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram all led to increased feelings of depression, anxiety, poor body image and loneliness.”

this paper defined the definition of social media, and blogs it also defined the importance of social media and why this paper is against social media. Moreover, this paper discussed how social media has bad effects on teens and kids, it also describes some of its effects and it describes some of the social media good effects and how we could use it in a useful way.

The debate about whether social networking is good or bad is likely to continue, but most of the world problems these days are from social media specially for kids and teenagers; social media are creating their own world far away from the real world, this lead to social anxiety and it creates violence. Meanwhile, a new study has found that children would be happy if social media didn’t exist, with over half of them experiencing abuse or having their confidence knocked by websites. In fact, two thirds of school children said they’d feel happy if it had never been invented and 71% of them had followed in the footsteps of celebrities like Ed Sheeran and the Kardashians by taking a break from social networking altogether. Several studies have also found a link between increased social networking use and a higher incidence of anxiety and depression as said by author toby britton.

Kids can also watch and interact with inappropriate things through social media this will lead to make them act violent and act inappropriate with elders and other people in the community also social media can develop fake news Second, while we don’t know how big a problem is fake news, whether it results from deliberate deception for instance, the story that the Pope endorsed Trump or sloppy or partisan journalism, its effect is to sow doubt in the public’s mind about the veracity of news and the motives of news-gatherers as recently asked of me: why doesn’t the BBC report how the USA is funding isis . For organizations that wish to engage digitally or otherwise with the public, this creates a trickier external operating environment for the delivery of information and messages.

Although there is a lot of disadvantages there is also some advantages as people who debate says social media has a lot of benefits for the students and teachers. It is very easy to educate from others who are experts and professionals via the social media. You can follow anyone to learn from him/her and enhance your knowledge about any field. Regardless of your location and education background you can educate yourself, without paying for it. You can share your issues with the community to get help and giddiness. Whether it is helping in term of money or in term of advice, you can get it from the community you are connected with.

The kids who watched aggressive videos imitated what they saw they beat the doll with a mallet, and they punched and kicked it. What was most surprising was that the children found new and creative ways to beat up the doll, and they played more aggressively with the other toys in the room as well. Children didn’t just imitate the aggressive behaviors they saw; seeing aggressive behaviors caused these kids to play more aggressively in general (Bandura, Ross, & Ross, 1963). most of the children have become victims of the cyberbulling over the past. Since anyone can create a fake account and do anything without being traced, it has become quite easy for anyone to bully on the Internet. Threats, intimidation messages and rumors can be sent to the masses to create discomfort and chaos in the society.

However, the debate will never end because everyone has his own needs and his own perspective, but even though we can’t stop social media we need to find a way to handle it

And we should respect everyone opinion and respect their culture in order to find a solution.

Parents should be aware and have control on their kids who has access to social media and they should open up with them, and make an open space to their children to talk with them about anything , a lot of teens commit suicide these days from social media from cyber bulling : education services , government , and parents should work all together to find a solution.

Introduce Yourself (Example Post)

This is an example post, originally published as part of Blogging University. Enroll in one of our ten programs, and start your blog right.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus you own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
